Justin D. Farmer is a lawyer, licensed real estate broker, and entrepreneur. As a lawyer, Justin has served as an Assistant Attorney General, private practitioner, and legal recruiter. He first attended the University of Washington where he received a Bachelor of Science having studied Marketing, Entrepreneurship, and Finance.
Justin then attended Seattle University Law School where he served on the Student Bar Association as President and Treasurer, participated in Moot Court competitions, clerked for a Superior Court Judge, worked for a boutique real estate and business law firm, and interned with the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office and Department of Assigned Counsel.
After graduation, Justin served as an Assistant Attorney General in Olympia where he acted as “in-house” counsel to Washington’s largest state agency and provided advice to various “business” divisions within the organization. He also has several years of business law experience, both transactional and litigation work. Justin has extensive experience as a legal recruiter and has mentored countless young professionals on the art of networking and career transitions.
Justin formed the model that would later become Private Practice Transitions, Inc. in 2012 after having gone through the arduous task of vetting a private practice that he intended to purchase. Justin has combined his passion for business, entrepreneurial spirit, and business experience to form Private Practice Transitions.
In 2018, Justin earned his Certified Business Intermediary (CBI) designation from the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA). The CBI is a prestigious designation exclusive to the IBBA that identifies an experienced and dedicated business broker. It is awarded to intermediaries who have proven professional excellence through verified education as well as exemplary commitment to our industry.
Tanya Farmer is a project manager with over ten years of experience in the commercial sector working as an owner’s rep in the healthcare construction industry. Tanya first attended Central Washington University where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree and then continued on to Seattle Pacific University where she earned her Master’s Degree.
Tanya has extensive experience managing scope, schedule and budget while leading countless multi-million-dollar construction projects over the course of her project management career. Now, Tanya has joined Private Practice Transitions to use her project management skills to help clients navigate through their professional transitions. Tanya focuses on the escrow and financing phases of “the deal” and handles all of the operations for Private Practice Transitions.

Chandler has 15 years of experience in the banking and finance industry in Washington and Oregon. During his time in banking, Chandler focused on financing the acquisition of small to medium-sized companies utilizing SBA and conventional lending options, and gained a deep understanding of complex deal structures and creative financing.
Chandler earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and Finance from Western Washington University. He grew up in Olympia, and has spent his career working in Washington and Oregon.
Chandler’s unique and well developed skill-set in finance, and assisting buyers and sellers get to the “finish line” on transactions has made him an asset in business finance and acquisition transactions. He brings a client-centric focus to each transaction and presents a high moral compass that helps each party involved thrive.

Executive Assistant to Justin Farmer
Sara Ashbaugh joined Private Practice Transitions in 2018 to deliver administrative support. She brings years of proficiency in organizational leadership, marketing development, and operational management to this role.
Originally from Southern California, Sara has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with an emphasis in Communications from Chapman University in Orange, CA. While earning her degree, she worked for a highly accomplished trial lawyer.
Most recently, Sara supported the executive office of a multi-state trade association delivering high-level operational support.
Kerri O’Farrell brings a unique skill set to Private Practice Transitions, with which she guides our integrated marketing efforts. Joining our team in early 2021 as Marketing Manager, Kerri is a trusted marketing and communications professional with deep roots in television and video production.
Kerri has produced programming for local, national, and international broadcast. She has been honored with, as she describes it, ‘all kinds of hardware’ – including several Emmy awards for television production and multiple industry awards for video marketing. Kerri has managed dozens of marketing campaigns from concept to completion through her co-owned production company, including dozens of marketing videos for both profit and non-profit organizations.
Several years ago, Kerri invested in broadening her marketability after years of producing and writing. Armed with a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism, Kerri changed her career channel to focus on rebranding and redirecting her career into marketing and communications. She earned her master's degree in Strategic Communications/Public Relations from Purdue University, graduating with honors.
In her role with Private Practice Transitions, Kerri is committed to using all the tools in her toolbox to provide top-shelf marketing to our clients and grow our business.
